A Home Within Co is an integrative healing arts and virtual wellness studio with bespoke in-person services that focuses on restoring and nourishing the whole being back to optimal health.
We provide holistic health counseling, restorative yoga, energy work, and wellness education that helps busy professionals, parents, creatives, and entrepreneurs find deeper physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual nourishment and restoration in their day-to-day lives.
Our mission is to reframe rest as productive, uproot externally focused living, and help end chronic busyness and the related burn-out it creates through integrated wellness services, experiences, practices, and resources that improve overall well-being - from within.
Hi, I’m Monica.
I’m a New York based Holistic Health Counselor, Ayurvedic Nutrition and Lifestyle Guide, Restorative Yoga Teacher, and Reiki Practitioner.
I’ve devoted the last 12+ years of my life to my own holistic healing and journey of self-awareness, transformation, and overall well-being. As I used the tools, practices and experiences to navigate depression, anxiety, healing of trauma, heartbreak and grief, a successful yet unfulfilling and stressful corporate career, and various chronic health conditions, I became passionate about holistic healing, wellness, and personal transformation.
I’ve studied and practiced yoga, ayurveda, meditation, breath-work, and the sensual arts; I’ve immersed myself in programs, workshops, trainings, psychotherapy, coaching, mentorships, retreats, personal healing and travel sabbaticals, cleanses, and books; I’ve experienced shamanic medicines and ceremonies, and have received alternative therapeutic treatments such as acupuncture, reiki, osteopathy, and others.
I’ve learned that the gateway toward healing is about personal discovery of the physical and energetic sweet spots that will address the origin of a condition or state of being. Peeling back the layers in an integrated way while identifying the root causes of mental, emotional, and physical dis-ease has not only optimized my well-being, but has allowed me to return to and remember the wholeness and sanctuary that is already within me.
This journey of remembering by way of tending to and weaving the connections of my mind, body, heart, and spirit - is what inspired me to pursue learning how to support others on their journey. I became a Registered Yoga Teacher in 2018, a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner in 2019, and became Reiki I and II attuned through completion of studies at The Harmony Lab’s Healership Program from 2020-2022.
My PHILOSOPHY.
My work is rooted in the belief that the body—inclusive of our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual bodies—is our true home and portal through which we experience this life. By prioritizing the well-being of our inner home environment - allowing it to feel as vibrant, loved, safe, free, open, and strong, as possible - we by default prioritize and optimize the quality of our life experience.
How we witness, perceive, and respond to our inner landscape - thoughts, emotions, behaviors and states of being - are the only aspects of life that we truly have agency over. Not those of others or of what is occurring externally. I’ve learned that in order to navigate through life’s inevitable challenges and transitions with as much grace as possible, one is best served journeying inwards and transforming from within.
I believe that the key lies in building a strong inner foundation and making it our first point of reference by taking radical self-responsibility - learning to observe and refine how we move and breathe; what we eat, digest, consume (through all the senses, not just diet), think and perceive; and how we experience and hold space for emotion and energy to express in our bodies. It’s a foundation that’s rooted in deep self-love and self-compassion; and fortified again and again through holistic nourishment and restoration of the whole being.
When we meet ourselves exactly where we are, dignify our experience, and lovingly explore and elevate our inner home; we reduce stress, regulate our nervous systems, find more peace, clarity, and joy - and are able to restore our body’s natural ability to heal and thrive. In other words, more of the true Self that has always been there is able to shine through.
